Last night's Backlash was the first dual-branded WWE PPV (outside of the big four) for quite some time but it was an underwhelming affair and felt like something of a filler event coming so soon after both WrestleMania and the Greatest Royal Rumble. WWE clearly wasn't looking to change the status quo either because not a single championship ended up changing hands during the show!
As expected when RAW Superstar Seth Rollins defended the Intercontinental Championship against SmackDown LIVE's The Miz, he retained the title after countering a rollup with a Curb Stomp.
Meanwhile, the rivalry between Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton may be over before it even began because the United States Champion cleanly defeated The Viper with a Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb. Common sense says that things between Rollins and The Miz are now over but whether or not a new challenger will step up to face Hardy is tough to say. What did you guys think of the matches?
