We haven't seen Dolph Ziggler on WWE television since January's
Royal Rumble PPV when he entered the match at #28 and eliminated his former tag team partner, Drew McIntyre.
Now, the Showoff has addressed his contract status with the company and it doesn't sound like we'll see him return to the squared circle for the foreseeable future.
"Technically, I am, yes," Ziggler said in regards to being under contract with WWE.
"It’s weird because for the last two years I’ve had somewhat of a handshake agreement, kind of behind closed doors deal with WWE. I’ve been able to do a lot of things, on my own, not at WWE, just because of the relationship we’ve had for the last 14 years. I have a bit of a handshake agreement right now, but we’ll know some more details in the coming months."
Not too long ago, we heard that WWE was interested in signing Ziggler to a producing role behind the scenes but it didn't sound like that was something he was interested in. We'll have to wait and see what happens but Ziggler has clearly accepted that he won't be world champion again and is now looking at other ventures.
