Earlier this week, WWE confirmed that Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler at the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV. Dubbed "The Horror Show at Extreme Rules," we know that Universal Champion Braun Strowman will face Bray Wyatt in a swamp, while Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins are literally putting their eyes on the line in a match where you must gouge your opponent's eye out (expect some makeup effects to help with that one).
WWE had teased that the stipulation for Ziggler vs. McIntyre would be revealed on this past Monday's episode of RAW, but that didn't happen. Now, though, the Showoff has appeared on WWE's The Bump to promise fans an unexpected set of rules for this championship bout.
"Just know, if I can get this through and cleared by WWE, it will be something never been done before and I will be taking full advantage because it’s something...I would be stupid to pick a normal match that we’ve seen before," Ziggler teased. Clearly, WWE is planning to pull out all the stops at Extreme Rules, and this WWE title match will be no exception.
As of right now, though, there's no word on what the company has planned, but it seems likely we'll find out more this coming Monday.
