During Sunday night's SummerSlam PPV, Dominik Mysterio made quite the impact when he squared off with former Universal Champion Seth Rollins. The match was well-received by fans, and it seems clear that he has a potentially very bright future in WWE.
During a post-match interview with The Gorilla Position podcast, Dominik was asked for his thoughts on how things panned out, including how great it's been working with Rollins.
"Seth has been nothing but so helpful and so kind," he started. "He said it before. He is a master at his craft. I couldn’t think of anyone else to have a debut match, anyone better, than Seth Rollins. I am very thankful for him and everything that he’s done for me."
Mysterio also sung the praises of producer Jamie Noble after being asked who helped piece the match together. "I think it had to do with a little bit of everybody, Seth, my dad, Jamie Noble, my mom. My mom, she doesn’t mind watching me. She didn’t enjoy watching me getting beat with the kendo stick. She didn’t watch it. She watched the first two hits and then she was done."
Finally, he was asked whether he was pleased with the match, and despite the fact he received praise backstage, it sounds like he's his own harshest critic. "Of course, there are little things here and there I wished I could have done better. But, everyone told me I should be proud of myself. I try not to look at the bad things and the bad comments but try to realize what I did was something crazy. I debuted at SummerSlam at the Thunderdome during a pandemic with Seth Rollins. I’m very blessed and very thankful."
