Drew McIntyre And Bayley Both Retained Their Respective Championships At EXTREME RULES

No surprises here, but WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley retained their respective titles at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules against opponents that never had a chance...

We knew it was highly unlikely that either Drew McIntyre or Bayley would lose their respective championships to their opponents at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, and sure enough, they both retained.

Bayley and Nikki Cross had a decent back-and-forth match, and the former NXT Superstar did look like she might overcome the odds at one point. Of course, Sasha Banks proved to be the difference maker and she tossed her bestie some brass knuckles (or as Michael Cole called them, "the things that say Boss on her hand"... gobshite) to use on her opponent. Bayley followed up with her faceplant buster for the win.

Dolph Ziggler, meanwhile, did choose a clever stipulation for his WWE Championship Match with McIntyre, but it didn't help him in the end. The bout was extreme rules for Ziggler only, and if Drew got counted out or disqualified, he'd lose the title. Even though The Showoff did lay a sound beating on the Scottish Psychopath with various weapons, the match still ended as it was always going to: a Claymore followed by the 1,2,3.

McIntyre is now looking ahead to his next challenger, and we might just find out who that'll be on Raw later tonight.
