This weekend will be the biggest moment of Drew McIntyre’s career.
Originally dubbed the “Chosen One" by Vince McMahon himself back in 2009, the Scottish wrestler was seen as the future of the WWE and when he won the Intercontinental Championship just a few short months later, the 34-year-old seemed one step closer to the main event scene.
However, McIntyre’s career took a nosedive when he was stripped of the belt and the Scotland native went from sharing the ring with former WWE Champions such as Kane or The Undertaker to playing air guitar with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal in 3MB.
McIntyre was soon released from the company, but the WWE star never gave up on his dream and continued to compete on the independent scene. Soon, McIntyre made his way into Impact Wrestling and showcased that he deserved to be in the main event, with the veteran ultimately winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Following his stint with TNA/Impact Wrestling and then NXT, McIntyre returned home and vowed to make a statement in his current stint with WWE. While it took a while for him to find his footing on the main roster, one night changed his career forever, The Royal Rumble.
Now, with huge momentum going into his WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar, can Drew finally climb the top of the mountain? As evidenced in an uploaded video, McIntyre is surely training hard to do so. Check it out below:
