The beef between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel was highly publicized.
The co-stars in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise have had a public feud based off of onset issues during the filming of the 2016 movie, which resulted in Johnson labelling Diesel a “candyass” on social media.
Now, The Rock has conducted an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and offered more insight into the feud between him and Diesel. Rock also revealed that although him and Diesel appear in a key scene in “The Fate of the Furious”, the two actors did not actually film the scene together.
“That is correct. We were not in any scenes together,” Johnson noted of the production on Fate of the Furious. “Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach movie-making and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarify. Whether we work together again or not.”
On the future of The Rock’s character in the “Fast” films, he revealed he may not appear in the upcoming ninth installment of the franchise, as he is currently working on the spinoff movie, “Hobbs” co-starring Jason Statham.
