Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Offers An Update On His Planned DC Film BLACK ADAM

It's probably going to be a long time before we see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back in a WWE ring, especially when he has so many movies in the works. Here, he talks about DC Comics adaptation, Black Adam...

We recently learned that Zachary Levi will be suiting up in Shazam (the movie starts shooting next year) but it doesn't sound like fans should get too excited about seeing him cross paths with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Black Adam in the near future. In a new interview, the Jumanji star has confirmed that there's a good reason Shazam became Shazam AND Black Adam and that he won't be involved in the film in any capacity as his focus is very much on his character's own solo adventure as of right now.

In fact, it sounds like both characters are being given some breathing room for the time being. "I think they've got a great plan over there with him and I wish those guys the best of luck," Johnson said, making his non-involvement with Shazam abundantly clear. "We had to split the idea because the obviously idea was Black Adam and Shazam. So we split it. Those guys are gonna do great with it."

Johnson concluded by saying, "It's Black Adam time," but his shedule is no busy who knows when that will be! Reading between the lines of this and other interviews, it doesn't sound like the actor wanted Black Adam to play second fiddle to Shazam and that's probably why one movie became two. His lack of involvement in the movie points to Black Adam not showing up to set up some sort of crossover so there's a very good chance that the two character are never going to cross paths on the big screen.

That's pretty bad planning on Warner Bros.' part and makes Shazam that little bit less exciting, right?
