When Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made it clear he was happy to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, WWE moved full steam ahead with the match. The company clearly felt Cody Rhodes giving the Brahma Bull his spot at the Show of Shows would appease fans; instead, it led to the #WeWantCody movement.
Some believe this was WWE's plan all along and others are convinced the company has been forced to change its plans. Either way, it appears the heel "Hollywood Rock" from the early 2000s is about to make a comeback!
Appearing before the WrestleMania Kickoff event in Las Vegas last night, The Rock spoke to Pat McAfee and made it clear he has no time for the WWE fans he's dubbed "Cody Crybabies."
"I love Cody, I love his passionate fans," Johnson started. "Then there's the other passionate fans of Cody, and they're called the 'Cody Crybabies.' These are grown-ass men." He proceeded to mock those fans, suggesting they're ignoring their children and wives to angrily demand Cody headlines WrestleMania.
He'd add, "You've got to sit back, know your role, shut your mouth, and enjoy the ride that The Rock is going to take your candy asses on. So hashtag that, hashtag 'shut your b**** asses up.' Hashtag 'Cody Crybabies.' That's the fun part of what we do. That's pro wrestling, that's WWE, and I can't wait for this afternoon."

While it's likely Johnson did initially use his position on the TKO Holdings Board to shoehorn himself into the WrestleMania main event, even he can't have ignored the vocal fan backlash. The YouTube video of his SmackDown return is the most disliked in WWE's history so embracing that by turning heel seems like a wise move.
That probably isn't what The Rock expected given his popularity but if he can turn that into entertaining television with record-high ratings and PPV buys, we're sure he doesn't care!
