As per usual, it's been a very busy year for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and while a WWE return now appears to be completely off the table, wrestling fans still keep a very close eye on what he's up to in Hollywood. Next up for him is Hobbs & Shaw (which also stars Roman Reigns) and it's now been revealed that he's this year's recipient of MTV’s prestigious Generation Award.

Presented at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, it was established back in 2005 as the successor to MTV's Lifetime Achievement Award. It celebrates great achievements in movies and is given to an artist for a variety of impressive roles, personal and professional flair, and level of talent.

Previous winners include the likes of Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Sandra Bullock, and Chris Pratt.

WWE is actually getting quite a bit of attention at the MTV Movie Awards because Roman Reigns is up for Best Real-Life Hero, and the "Winner Take All" Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair is nominated for Best Fight.
