During last night's SmackDown, Seth Rollins confronted Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce backstage and made it clear he wants to be the next Superstar to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. He was serious, and it seems he's finally setting his sights on the biggest prize in WWE.
Deville and Pearce said they'd take in under advisement, and later in the show, the Head of the Table and Paul Heyman hit the ring to discuss the fact that there are no viable challenges left for Reigns.
Just as the Big Dog was about to do something that has "never been done on network television," Edge's music hit and he made his way to the ring for a brawl with the champion. Brushing off a Superman Punch, he hit the Spear and was about to deliver a con-chair-to before Jimmy Uso made the save.
With rumours swirling that we'll see Edge vs. Rollins at SummerSlam, the signs appear to be pointing to us getting a huge Triple Threat match at Money in the Bank next month.
Elsewhere in the show, Big E was added to the men's Money in the Bank ladder match, while Carmella is now part of the women's bout. Next week, Kevin Owens will return to SmackDown to face Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing match with the winner going to also take part in that ladder match at the PPV.
