During the latest edition of Booker T's "Hall of Fame" podcast, WWE Superstar Ember Moon revealed how exactly she suffered her Achilles injury. Unbelievably, it didn't happen in the ring and instead occurred during a comedy segment where she was booked to chase down Carmella and the 24/7 Championship.
"I made it to the hotel and getting ready to do SmackDown the next day and they were like, ‘Hey, Ember, you’re in the 24/7 title run because Carmella won the night before,' she explains. "I was like, ‘Ah, Y’all sure y’all need me for that?’ You know what’s weird is like when you know you have a bad feeling about something?"
"So I had a feeling and I was like ‘oooh, do we? ok cool.’ You know what, I’m a team player, screw it, I got this, I’m in." Moon went on to explain that she was running too fast and it was as she slowed herself down that, "I felt a pop. It felt like a scratch. Literally, I was like ‘huh, that feels weird.'"
Apparently, she didn't realise that she'd been injured until she got home and suddenly couldn't put any weight on her foot. Now, she looks set to be out of action for most of 2020 but given how poorly Moon was used when we last saw her, here's hoping WWE will have some better ideas by the time she steps back into the squared circle.
