Emma, Darren Young And Summer Rae Have All Been Released By WWE

It appears as if WWE is really for its annual cull as the company has announced today that Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae have all been released from their contracts. Hit the jump for what we know so far.

In a shocking turn of events, it's been revealed today that Emma has been released from her WWE contract. It's unclear if she's done something wrong or asked to be let go but this comes exactly a week after she squared off with Asuka at the TLC PPV. The next night she lost again to the Empress of Tomorrow and it's been apparent for some time that WWE has had nothing planned for her.

That's a shame as Emma is a very talented wrestler who has never been utilised well on the main roster. It remains to be seen where she will show up next but the independent scene is no doubt calling.

Less shocking is the release of Darren Young and Summer Rae. The former was injured during a lame "Make Darren Young Great Again!" gimmick and the latter hasn't been seen for some time now (but was also never treated particularly seriously). The press release reads: "WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE Superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae."

It finishes with that classic line, "WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors." How do you guys feel about this news? Share your thoughts down below.
