According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Eric Bischoff was neither at RAW nor SmackDown Live this week despite starting work in his new Executive Director role on Wednesday. It was pretty obviously that the blue brand didn't have his fingerprints on it and people on the creative team have been told that he likely won't be involved in the creative process.
Instead, it seems as if Bischoff's job will be to interface with all departments at FOX and while he's considered the leader of SmackDown Live, it doesn't seem as if he's going to be helping with storylines.
Chances are he's just there to take the burden off Vince McMahon, especially now he's going to be busy working on the XFL. Both RAW and SmackDown Live received tepid reviews this week but ratings for the former did increase following the Extreme Rules PPV.
