A new video interview has been posted to the WWE Performance Center YouTube account which features Fandango talking about his return after he suffered a labrum tear last year. He was recently cleared to do cardio after six months of physical therapy and is clearly anxious to return to action.
"I was watching some of my old matches but I like doing comedy stuff in the ring but I think I’d like to have serious matches … I kind of checked the comedy box off on my bodywork," he revealed, pointing to plans for a very different character when he returns.
Fandango added that he's looking forward to "getting back to why I got into wrestling was those hard-hitting matches that I loved growing up…the Bret Hart matches, the Ricky Steamboat-Flair matches is something that I would like to check off." Adding that he hopes to square off with the likes of Daniel Bryan, he noted that at 35, his time is limited.
Whether or not WWE will give him an opportunity to shine obviously remains to be seen but he's clearly passionate to do something new.
