For a PPV that many fans expected to be a bit of "filler" as we draw ever closer to WrestleMania, tonight's Elimination Chamber turned out to be pretty damn eventful.
Following the crowning of the first Women's Tag-Team Champions (of this era, anyway) and The Usos gaining gold yet again, Finn Balor became Intercontinental Champion for the first time after taking full advantage of the stipulation in his handicap match against Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush.
The Irishman knew going in that he could win the title by pinning Rush, so that became his goal right from the start. After taking out both men with a plancha, Balor grabbed the smaller Superstar and threw him back in the ring, hitting the drop-lock/Coup de Gras combo for the three-count.
After the match, Lashley took his frustrations out on his hype man, putting Rush down with a huge slam. Is this the end of their alliance? We'll most likely find out tomorrow night on Raw, but one thing we do know for sure is that Finn Balor is heading into WrestleMania as the IC Champion!
