Finn Balor Wasn't Originally Scheduled To Be Part Of Team RAW At SURVIVOR SERIES

After defeating Dolph Ziggler on RAW, Stephanie McMahon decided that Finn Balor would join the Showoff and Drew McIntyre as part of RAW's Survivor Series team. However, the former NXT Champion wasn't originally going to be part of the show as PW Insider is reporting that his slot was originally set to be filled by Kurt Angle, a Superstar who was obviously buried last week when he faced McIntyre.

"As you saw, Finn Balor was added to the Survivor Series men’s elimination match on the show," Mike Johnson noted. "I don’t know what the cause and effect was for the change but a week ago, the plan was for Kurt Angle to be in that match, not Finn Balor." It's hard to say why plans changed but Angle hasn't retired and isn't injured so who knows why he's been written off TV

"So for whatever reason, they decided with the Drew McIntyre match that they were writing Kurt out of storylines for now and Finn Balor was going to be the one to take his place."

It could be that WWE is building to something with Angle but the more likely explanation is probably that they want to push McIntyre as RAW's top heel a role he actually ended up filling nicely on RAW.
