Could Ricochet make a return down to NXT soon?
While there’s no word on the former NXT North American Champion being sent back down to the black and yellow brand, Ricochet’s status with the promotion has been in question following his shocking loss to Brock Lesnar at WWE Super ShowDown.
While Lesnar retaining the WWE Championship wasn’t a surprised to many (or anyone), the fact that Ricochet was squashed without getting one offensive maneuver in is what many are shocked about. Since then, many rumors have swirled that the 31-year-old has fallen out of favor with Vince McMahon, with his loss to Riddick Moss for the 24/7 Championship reportedly a burial.
Ricochet wasn’t on RAW this past week; however, the Illinois native did conduct an interview with
WJLA and stated that he would love to go back down to NXT if the opportunity was given to him:
“For sure that’s a place I’d love to go. I call it home for me. It was a place I enjoyed thoroughly when I was being there and now that they have more exposure on the USA Network every Wednesday I think that’s huge too. So, for me, for sure. Any time they need a hand from me I’ll be there no problem.”
At the moment, there’s no word on whether there are plans for Ricochet at WrestleMania 36; however, given his recently treatment on the main roster lately then it won't be a surprise if he’s just an entrant in the 2020 Andre The Giant Battle Royal.
