Since joining WWE Heath Slater has been a member of the original Nexus, 3MB, Social Outcasts, and one half of the Raw tag-team champions with Rhyno, and although he has achieved some mid-card success, he's never really managed to take things to the next level.

Now, Slater has shared an Instagram post admitting that things haven't really gone how he'd have liked them to - though he certainly doesn't sound bitter about it.

The problem is that a comedy act - even one that's over with the crowd - will only be pushed so far in WWE. Ever since he left Nexus, Slater has been handed one faintly ridiculous gimmick after the next, although he has managed to do some great things with them.

It would be very interesting to see a more serious side of his character, perhaps even as a heel.
