Chris Jericho recently sat down with former SmackDown Live Superstar James Ellsworth and they touched on a number of topics about his run in WWE and specifically how it ended. Asked why he thinks he was released by the company, Ellsworth said he believes he became too comfortable and questioning WWE Creative over their decision to have Carmella put him in a dog collar.
Ellsworth also reveals that after taking part in WWE's sixteen-day European tour, he received a text from Mark Carano asking for him to call. It was then he learned that the company was planning to let him go and while he made a number of suggestions - like joining the roster of 205 Live - it boiled down to WWE deciding to release him because his run with Carmella has run its course.
The one-time jobber went on to explain that he holds no bitterness toward WWE despite feeling like there was much more left for him to do there. Plus, it was an experience of a lifetime for him!
