Former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus has been missing from the squared circle for several months, and the reports from backstage sources strongly indicated that the “Celtic Warrior” could actually retire.

Sheamus was forced to step away from the ring due to suffering a concussion during a six-man tag team match against The New Day; however, the former WWE Champion has been dealing with multiple injuries including spinal stenosis – which is the same condition that forced Edge & Paige to retire.

The “Celtic Warrior” has been dealing with this for some time now and while Sheamus himself hasn’t confirmed that he will stop being an active competitor inside the ring, the former World Heavyweight Champion has yet to deny it either. However, Sheamus did post a video of himself with a new look, and more importantly, wearing a referee shirt. Could we see the WWE superstar transition into the role of a referee?
