Ken Shamrock was a staple of WWE's Attitude Era but after leaving the wrestling business, he found success in UFC as the first person to hold the company's Middleweight Championship (that was later renamed the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship) and he retired as a four-time undefeated champion. He later worked with Mauro Ranallo as a commentator on Strikeforce events.
That company ended up being acquired by UFC in 2013 but Shamrock and Ranallo - who now calls NXT matches after leaving SmackDown Live - have remained close friends ever since.
Now, it's been revealed that Ranallo narrowly escaped death on Sunday night but his life was saved by Shamrock after he performed the Heimlich manoeuvre on him when he started choking on food. The commentator explained that in a series of Tweets you can see below. It's a good job he's ok and, as you can see, he's now trying to raise awareness so people know how important it is.
