AJ Styles is the new WWE champion after beating Jinder Mahal with a Phenomenal Forearm last night on SmackDown LIVE.

The title change came as a big surprise because the company have been promoting Jinder VS. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series for weeks now, and John Cena was even set to step in as the special guest referee.

Because of this, some rumors have sprung up relating to the reasons WWE brass may have decided to take the title off Mahal on such short notice.

Was his title reign just an experiment to see if they could draw in more viewers in India? Did he violate the wellness policy? Is he injured? Well, according to The Modern Day Maharajah himself, it's none of the above:



With one more SmackDown show to go before Survivor Series, it is possible that Mahal could regain the title, but chances are we will get to see The Phenomenal One take on The Beast - which most fans are very happy about.
