On Instagram, former WWE and United States Champion Jinder Mahal revealed that he suffered a ruptured patella tendon. The injury stems from a match-up against Ali at a house show event on Jun 15th.

The Smackdown Live star recently underwent successful surgery for his injury. There is no timetable for Jinder's return.

Prior to the injury, Mahal was caught up in the chaos involving the 24/7 Championship. The former WWE Champion was able to capture the belt on two separate occasions - once on a golf course and once on an airport tarmac. However, both reigns ended shortly as R-Truth would gain the title back moments after losing.

It was reported recently that the Smackdown Live star penned a five-year deal with the company, thus expect to see more of the Modern Day Maharaja inside a WWE ring in the future.
