Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard has been reported missing after being caught in a riptide while swimming with his son yesterday.

According to TMZ, several people were in need of assistance when the potentially perilous situation arose around 4pm yesterday. While lifeguards did their best to get people out of the water as quickly as possible, Gaspard reportedly told them to help his 10-year-old son first before being submerged when another large wave crashed down.

Apparently, a search was conducted until 7.30pm before being called off. The hope is that Gaspard will have manged to make it to shore in a surrounding area, but things could obviously take a more tragic turn.

Shad's wife has shared the following Instagram post, encouraging anyone with information about her husband's whereabouts or status to contact 911.

All of us here at the Ring Report are hoping Shad is able to return safe and sound to his family. Stay tuned for updates.
