After WrestleMania is typically a time where WWE shifts the rosters around a little bit, but even though the 2025 WWE Draft hasn't been announced in any capacity, a trade has already taken place.
On tonight's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, out of nowhere, it was revealed that Fraxiom are now part of the blue brand.
Axiom and Nathan Frazer have been the premiere tag team in NXT for the better part of a year, having originally defeated The Wolf Dogs (Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker) to win the NXT Tag Team Championship on April 9, 2024. Since then, they've held the titles all the way up until this past weekend's WWE Stand & Deliver event, outside of a 19 day stint from August 13th to September 1st when they temporarily lost the titles to Andre Chase and Ridge Holland of Chase University.
All throughout this, Axiom and Frazer have had their issues as a tag team, often not being on the same page and having communication problems. Frazer went through a stretch where he was focused on other singles division accolades while holding the tag titles, which eventually convinced Axiom to start doing the same. However, all the instances of them not getting along ultimately never mattered, as they perpetually overcame the odds to beat every tag team in the division, often on multiple occasions.
After losing the titles to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger at Stand & Deliver, it appears they were available for acquisition, according to Wade Barrett on commentary, who commended SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis for snatching them up while he could.
Both have wrestled on SmackDown before, with Axiom losing to Gunther on March 14th and Frazer losing to Rey Fenix three weeks back on April 4th.
Tonight in their debut, Fraxiom were up against Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo of Legado del Fantasma, who haven't been having a particularly great run as of late. Despite how they want to prove themselves to Santos Escobar, Los Garza once again came up short, losing to the fast-paced and agile new tag team.
The Super Sonic Duo are definitely a tag team to keep an eye on, and within no time, will undoubtedly be competing for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
