Last night's Super ShowDown main event between The Undertaker and Goldberg is being called one of the worst matches in history, and while we wouldn't go quite that far, the final few minutes were... well, they were a bloody mess (literally).
It all went to hell after Goldberg appeared to smash his head against the turnbuckle post and split himself open (to be fair, he was bleeding before the match because he rams his own head against the door to "psych himself up"), and this was followed by both men botching their finishers and seriously endangering each other in the process.
The match ended on a whimper with a pathetic attempt at a chokeslam, and after the 3-count The Deadman's face said it all.
Soon after the PPV, Goldberg took to Twitter with the following:
It's been plain to see for a while now that 'Taker should not be wrestling anymore unless it's in a very short match like the one he had against John Cena at WrestleMania 34. And Goldberg? We're gonna be nice and say he's also past it and leave it at that.
While it would be a shame if this was the last we saw of these legends, the thoughts of them wrestling again is genuinely frightening. But, as long as WWE believes they need this kind of star power to draw ratings and keep their super-rich Saudi pals happy, then Vince is going to continue to throw money at them to compete.
