Dave Bautista officially retired from in-ring competition this year when he lost to Triple H at
WrestleMania and, as expected, it's now been revealed that he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The event takes place during WrestleMania weekend in April and this news comes shortly after it was revealed that the nWo will also be going in. Since leaving WWE a few years ago, Bautista has become a huge star in Hollywood thanks to movies like
Guardians of the Galaxy,
Avengers: Endgame, and
Blade Runner 2049.
"As soon as I hung up the phone, I was...and excuse my language, I was like, ‘S–t, I gotta give a speech.’ And that is what I’ve been stressing about since," Bautista laughs. "I don’t think it’s sunk in. And I was thinking about it because I mean, it seems like a long journey, but it also feels like yesterday when I started my career."
"And I said that at WrestleMania last year: It’s the end of my in-ring journey, but it’s not the end of my journey with the WWE. I will always be connected with them, I’ll always be affiliated with them, I hope that I will always have a good relationship with them. So it doesn’t really feel like an ending for me, it feels like, kind of, I’m right in the mix."
"All I can say is it feels good, it’s just satisfying," he concluded. "I feel like I accomplished something. I feel like it was all worth it."
Needless to say, big Dave is definitely a worthy addition to the WWE Hall of Fame and it will be interesting seeing who he chooses to induct him, especially as he's worked so closely with the likes of Randy Orton, Triple H, and Ric Flair.
Are you glad to see that Bautista is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
