Terry Funk has confirmed that he will have to miss previously scheduled appearances at Starrcast and All In due to some nagging health issues he's currently dealing with. At 74-years-old, Funk doesn't really step between the ropes these days and it sounds like his hardcore career has caught up with him, something which sadly won't come as a surprise given the sort of matches he's competed in.
"I was supposed to be on the All In show, but I can’t because of a problem with my abdominal hernia," he recently confirmed. "I’m not feeling too good. Am I going to feel better? I hope to hell I am. That’s a wish on my part." Despite not being there, Funk went on to praise the success Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks have had in generating interest for the non-WWE show, All In.
"I think it’s wonderful that Cody is having success, and I was really looking forward to seeing him," said Funk. "Cody and Dusty are similar in so many ways, but they’re different also. I’ve never met anyone like Dusty. He was loved by everyone and everybody. He was a phenomenal in-ring performer who understood the business, and that was passed on to Cody."
We obviously wish Funk a speedy recovery and hope to see him back to doing what he loves soon! In the meantime, stay tuned to The Ring Report for all the latest updates on this Indy event.
