Confirming rumors that had been doing the rounds all day, the recently released Heath Slater returned to Raw this week for a confrontation with his old 3MB stablemate, Drew McIntyre.
The WWE Champion's Extreme Rules opponent Dolph Ziggler bought Slater back in an attempt to distract Drew and get in his head, and it did appear to work at first. Slater still considers McIntyre a good friend, but he was angry that the champ never reached out to him after he was fired. He said he was owed a match to prove himself, and goaded Drew into it with a slap.
Unfortunately, the match itself only lasted about 10 seconds as McIntyre hit a Claymore almost immediately and picked up the win. Afterwards, Ziggler got in Slater's face and Drew made the save, embracing his longtime friend and burying the hatchet.
This was actually a nice moment, but Heath is not expected to return on a regular basis and this was believed to be a one-off appearance. There's speculation that he may join former tag-team partner Rhyno in Impact, but that remains to be seen.
