On Saturday night, WWE aired a special event called Smackville from Nashville, Tennessee on the WWE Network. Just like in the past, the company chose to air just a portion of the card and the action was called by Tom Phillips and David Otunga.

While the first match was supposed to be Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor, he wasn't cleared for action, and Ali ended up taking his place. He lost after being hit with a Kinshasa and that was followed by a musical performance from Elias. Kevin Owens interrupted and the two squared off in a bried match Owens won with a Stunner.

The main event, meanwhile, saw WWE Champion Kofi Kingston defend the title against Dolph Ziggler and Samoa Joe in a Triple Threat match. He won with the Trouble in Paradise on Joe.

So, nothing of consequence really happened and this is unlikely to have any sort of impact on what we see on SmackDown Live tomorrow night. Did you guys choose to tune into Smackville?
