We've been bringing you coverage from SummerSlam all day but there's one match we didn't get chance to mention...mostly because it was such a disappointment! That is, of course, The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers in a bout for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. While Xavier Woods pulled off an incredible elbow drop to the outside, the match sadly ended with a DQ finish.
That came when Erick Rowan used one of the team's hammers on their opponents and while this is undoubtedly setting the stage for a rematch at Hell in a Cell, it makes this result no less unsatisfying.
On the plus side, the Kickoff wasn't half bad. During that, Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega managed to beat Rusev and Lana when the latter was distracted by Almas and Vega rolled her up with some assistance from the ropes. The B-Team managed to retain the RAW Tag Team Championship (by mistake) against The Revival, while Cedric Alexander rolled up Drew Gulak for the win.
So, not a bad Kickoff show but one which definitely made for decent enough viewing. What did you guys think of SummerSlam? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
