Here's A Possible Update On When John Cena Will Make His Return to WWE Programming

The last time we saw John Cena, he had been defeated by Roman Reigns at the No Mercy PPV. Now, a new report sheds some light on when we should expect to see the leader of the Cenation make his return...

As John Cena's Hollywood commitments become more frequent, we're seeing less and less of the iconic WWE Superstar in the squared circle. His recent return to RAW was relatively short-lived as a feud many believed would span a number of PPVs was cut short when the equally divisive Roman Reigns cleanly defeated the leader of the Cenation at No Mercy

While Cena has made it clear he's not retiring, his wrestling career does appear to be winding down and Hollywood is calling to him with an upcoming Transformers spinoff and possibly even Shazam

According to Dave Meltzer, though, while a multi-match feud was planned, that was changed so that Cena could "pass the torch" sooner rather than later and Roman could then reunite with The Shield (in a rather blatant attempt to make him popular again before he faces Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania). Cena needed the time off for Bumblebee anyway but when will he return?

Apparently, the current plan is for Cena to be back in time for Survivor Series. It's possible he'll be kept off TV until 2018 as nothing is set in stone but it seems we may not have too long to wait after all!
