Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the biggest names in WWE history and he's been rumoured to appear on the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX for a while now. Well, according to Dave Meltzer, the company is still working on getting him on the show but it all boils down to whether he can fit it into his busy schedule.
At this point, it's not really a case of WWE trying to keep The Rock's appearance a surprise; instead, the want it all confirmed and will probably announce his return shortly thereafter.
After all, an appearance from The Rock would definitely boost ratings for this first episode and a number of other big names are also confirmed to appear, including Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, and Ric Flair.
WWE has booked the show like a PPV as Kofi Kingston is set to defend the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar, while Shane McMahon will battle Kevin Owens in a Ladder match. The loser of that match will be forced to leave WWE so many fans are excited to say goodbye to Shane here.
