AEW star Jon Moxley has made it clear that he's glad to no longer be WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose, but most of the shots he's taken at the company have been directed at Vince McMahon.
Recently, former WWE Woman's Tag Team Champions Cassie Lee (Peyton Royce) and Jessica McKay (Billie Kay) caught up with Renee Paquette (Moxley's wife) to discuss their WWE release. During the interview, the host talked about the friendships that can come out of being part of WWE, and revealed that Triple H kept an eye on Moxley even after his release.
As you may recall, Moxley suffered a bad MRSA infection in his elbow in August 2019, and despite the fact he was signed with AEW at the time, The Game was still concerned for the former WWE Superstar's well-being.
"Even when Jon left, there were times that Hunter [Triple H] pulled me aside because Jon was injured when he came back from New Japan. Hunter kept checking in to make sure that Jon was okay," Paquette, better known as Renee Young during her time in WWE, revealed.
"If he needed anything, they [WWE] would have been able to help him in any kind of capacity. So it was nice to know that that olive branch was still extended, and it wasn’t that heat-seeking thing that everybody thinks that it is. We’ve all spent so much time together, and nothing bad went down."
Considering the fact Moxley had signed with AEW at this stage, it's definitely a surprise to hear that Triple H extended an olive branch like this. However, given his history with Ambrose in NXT and on WWE TV, perhaps we shouldn't be too shocked that a bond of sorts had been formed between them.
Whether that opens the door to Moxley one day returning to WWE remains to be seen.
