Many fans are still reeling from the news that WWE actually intends to go ahead with a match which will require either Seth Rollins or Rey Mysterio to extract the eye of their opponent with their bare hands (not literally, of course) to win the match, but here we are.
The "Eye for an Eye" match is set to take place at the aptly named The Horror Show at Extreme Rules event, and now thanks to The Wrestling Observer, we have a much better idea of what to expect.
As we speculated, the bout is to be pre-taped ahead of time, and special effects will be utilized to achieve the gruesome outcome. In other words, either Rey or Rollins will be (storlyline) losing an eye.
Mysterio seems like the most likely candidate to wave goodbye to his peeper since he is reportedly working without a contract and may well leave the company soon after the PPV. Then again, we've been hearing that Rollins has wanted to take some time off for a while, so he may take the loss and stay at home while he recovers from... having his eye yanked out of his head.
WWE has never really been too concerned about adhering to continuity, but permanently mutilating a Superstar is definitely a new one. One thing's for sure, people will be tuning in to see how this one turns out.
