Matt and Jeff Hardy's WWE contracts are expected to expire soon and while there's a chance the latter will be forced to stick around for a while after missing so much time due to injury, what comes next for the popular tag team? Well, PW Insider reveals that Matt's deal expires in February and he's reportedly wary about WWE's plans for him moving forward.
During last week's RAW, he made his return but was treated as something of an afterthought after losing to Buddy Murphy. While it's said that Matt and WWE are on the same page financially, he realises that this will probably be his final run and he wants to be used in a certain way.
His "Woken" character never really worked in WWE due to the way it was handled by Creative and he's been pushing his own gimmick for months now, first as an entitled rich guy and more recently in "Free The Delete" videos on YouTube. Clearly, he's laying the groundwork for a new character who could be used in WWE...or elsewhere.
As for Jeff, it's unclear whether he wants to leave but he's been having a lot of personal issues and is likely to be kept around for quite some time given how long away he's been out of the ring.
