Here's The Latest On RAW Commentator Samoa Joe's In Ring Status As A Wrestler In WWE

Fans are loving Samoa Joe's work behind the commentary table on RAW each week, but there are many wondering when he will step back into the ring. Now, we have an update on where things stand with him...

Samoa Joe is doing a great job on RAW each week as part of the commentary team, and after a stint on the main roster plagued by injuries, there's a lot of confusion surrounding his in-ring status. He suffered a concussion while shooting a commercial back in February, and hasn't stepped back into the ring since.

Now, Dave Meltzer has shared an update after being asked on Wrestling Observer Radio whether Joe is done as a wrestler.

"Probably not, but for now, he does such a great job with announcing and he’s had a lot of concussions but for now he’s doing this," Meltzer explained. "I know that when he first did the announcing, and of course things changed, I was told that it was temporary because he’s too valuable as a talent to have him as an announcer. But obviously, minds changed from when I was told that to when they decided to revamp it and he is great as an announcer. In theory, he’s supposed to wrestle again but who knows."

Earlier this month, WWE appeared to tease an in-ring return for Samoa Joe when he stood up to Seth Rollins. However, things have moved on since then, and there have been no indications that he will return to action in the near future.

That could change, of course, and WWE frequently changes plans, so you never know what Vince McMahon might decide on a Monday night!
