Seth Rollins won this year's Royal Rumble match and will now face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania for the Universal Championship. However, as of right now, The Architect is unable to take any bumps because he's dealing with a nagging back injury.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shed some light on what's happening and reveals that Rollins has actually been hurting for quite some time.
While Rollins knew he'd need some time off heading into the Royal Rumble PPV, it's not serious enough to stop him from wrestling but WWE isn't taking any chances as they want him good to go for that match against The Beast. It doesn't sound like he'll compete much in the coming weeks either as the company is hoping to get him as close to 100% as possible.
With any luck, Rollins will indeed be good to go and it's a relief to hear that WWE is giving him some time to heal rather than rushing into anything. As always, stay tuned for details.
