WWE Champion Kofi Kingston ended up pulling double duty last night because after SmackDown Live and 205 Live went off the air, he faced his Stomping Grounds opponent Dolph Ziggler. The two first faced off for the title at Super ShowDown and will meet inside a Steel Cage on Sunday.
During SmackDown Live, Kingston and Universal Champion Seth Rollins defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a two out of three falls match. After the shows went off the air, though, The New Day member managed to retain the WWE Championship in a singles bout and we can expect the same thing to happen this Sunday.
After all, this feud feels like something of a filler and it's actually surprising it's been stretched out this long, especially as we heard reports that Ziggler was only brought back for the Saudi Arabia show.
