Thanks to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, we have a better idea about why Andrade didn't drop the United States Championship to Humberto Carrillo during last night's episode of
RAW.
Andrade has been suspended for thirty days following his first Wellness Policy violation and while it's usually protocol for a title to be taken off a suspended Superstar, it was reportedly Paul Heyman who decided to have him lose via disqualification before being taken out on the concrete with a hammerlock DDT courtesy of Carrillo.
Heyman is said to be very high on Andrade and believes it was too soon in this storyline for the former
205 Live Superstar win the title.
"It was a Paul Heyman decision to keep the title on Andrade," Meltzer explains. "He wants to make Andrade a real franchise player." In other words, the plan is to make Andrade a top star and it doesn't sound like this suspension will be too much of a setback for him.
It's also worth noting that Zelina Vega is now expected to be taken off television for the next few weeks while Andrade waits at home.
