Here's Why Kofi Kingston Has Disappeared From WWE Television In Recent Weeks

Despite the fact WWE appeared to be teasing a feud between The New Day and The Miz and John Morrison, things took an unexpected turn on RAW last night. Now, we have some news on why Kofi Kingston was M.I.A.!

Kofi Kingston was once again conspicuous by his absence during last night's episode of RAW. The former WWE Champion wasn't booked for a match at SummerSlam, but was supposed to be part of a backstage segment with tag team partner Xavier Woods to promote the Pure Life Purified Water brand.

However, Kingston wasn't on the road this weekend, and PWInsider.com is reporting that it's because he hasn't been cleared for in-ring action.

There's no word on what's keeping him off television, but we're certainly hoping this is little more than just a minor injury. The rumoured plan was for The New Day to feud with The Miz and John Morrison, with that eventually leading to a split for the heel team; however, as we saw during last night's RAW, WWE has gone ahead and pulled the trigger on that by having Miz turn on Morrison.

Woods appeared on his own on RAW for a match with The Miz, and it ended up being that which led to the duo finally calling it quits as a team. What the plan for The New Day is moving forward remains to be seen, but a singles run for Woods does feel long overdue at this point so perhaps this is his chance?
