During Monday night's episode of RAW, Michael Cole mentioned that he will be calling the action at Evolution alongside Renee Young and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix. Some fans haven't responded particularly well to that, questioning why WWE would choose to have a man on the announce table when the event is supposed to be celebrating the company's female roster.
Well, Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that while WWE believes that Young and Phoenix are good announcers, they didn't want to put either of them in a position not to look strong doing play-by-play. As a result, the decision was made to choose either Cole or Mauro Ranallo to perform those duties while the other two work colour commentary on the show (which is a good mix).
For what it's worth, Young clearly isn't bothered as she took to Twitter to point out that there's absolutely no reason that a man can't be involved in the show, a point that does make some sense.
