Here's Why The Women's Tag Team Championship Match Was Pulled From Sunday's SUMMERSLAM PPV

The Women's Tag Team Championships ended up changing hands on Monday's RAW but the match was originally set to take place at SummerSlam. Now, we have details about why WWE decided to pull that from the PPV.

It's no secret that a number of matches which were set to take place at SummerSlam have been pulled from the show (Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan and Aleister Black vs. Sami Zayn, for example). However, on Monday's RAW, WWE decided to put the Women's Tag Team Championship match on free TV. Why, though, was it pulled from the PPV?

"The women’s tag team [title match] was put on Raw to give them more time and not to get it lost on the pay-per-view," Dave Meltzer claims, pointing to WWE giving the division at least some thought. Vince McMahon has never really shown much interest in the division and both Sasha Banks and Bayley and The IIconics were unable to make much of a difference as champions.

With any luck, things will play out a little differently for Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss but with them left off one of WWE's biggest PPVs of thr year, we probably shouldn't get our hopes up.
