Over the weekend, R-Truth managed to regain the 24/7 Championship after pinning Drake Maverick...at his wedding! That made him a six-time 24/7 Champion and it now sounds like we can expect the recently launched division to continue revolving around Truth moving forward.
Apparently, it boils down to Vince McMahon trusting Truth to deliver on whatever the show's writers give him. "Vince loves Ron. Everyone loves Ron but Vince really loves the guy because he is up for everything. Sometimes Vince can tell when someone is not into what they are doing because it’s silly or whatever. You never see that with Ron and Vince loves that."
Vince hasn't had much good to say about "millennial" Superstars and the fact Truth was part of the Attitude Era is probably another big part of why he's such a fan.
It's also said that this 24/7 Championship story is leading to something with Carmella and while there's nothing to say that she will turn heel, there have been rumblings for a while now that she's going to ultimately win the title.
