Hornswoggle Reflects On Receiving A "Standing Ovation" For His WeeLC Match With El Torito
It was one of the most bizarre - and possibly offensive - matches in WWE history but the WeeLC match was a hit with fans and based on recent comments from Hornswoggle, Vince McMahon loved it as well...
The WeeLC match took place at Extreme Rules in 2014 and brought the rivalry between Hornswoggle and El Torito to a close. It was a typically offensive way for WWE to use little people but was a surprisingly good match and a lot of fans really enjoyed it. Now, Hornswoggle has revealed in a new interview that he actually received a standing ovation when he returned to the backstage area.
It may seem hard to believe but we know that Vince McMahon has a strange sense of humour and seeing as both Hornswoggle and El Torito exceeded expectations, his story does make some sense.
"People expected it to be us biting each other's asses on top of ladders. Instead, we beat the piss outta each other and ourselves. It was a lot of moving parts, man. Everyone was so excited. Everyone involved was so excited, between the agents and all the guys involved, we were so excited for everything. And I remember getting … I say it at every interview. I get to the back and didn't get ungeared for like two hours. I was like, 'This is so awesome.' Easily, maybe my only standing ovation in 'Gorilla,' even from Vince [McMahon], which made me feel really good about myself. It was awesome. That's the one where, if someone asks what I do, I give them that. I've only watched it once. It's one of the three matches in my career I've watched. I've never watched any more than that. I don't watch my stuff."
There's never been a WeeLC II and that probably won't change any time soon, especially as both these wrestlers have been released from the company over the past few years. What do you guys make of Hornswoggle's remarks? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
