Is John Cena Set To RETIRE From WWE Following Loss To Solo Sikoa At CROWN JEWEL?

WWE held Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia this past weekend, and John Cena vs. Solo Sikoa was among the most must-see matches on the card. The leader of the Cenation hasn't won singles a match since 2018, so the stakes going into their clash were undeniably high.

Unfortunately for Cena, Solo managed to dominate and defeat the 16-time WWE Champion following a series of brutal Somoan Spikes.

After the match, Cena received a standing ovation from the crowd in a moment many people believe could have been his WWE farewell. We're not buying that (if it happens, it will be on a much grander stage like WrestleMania), but Cena is now hinting that his time in the ring has indeed ended.

As you can see below, he took to Instagram shortly after the match to post a photo of David Beckham which was taken during the soccer player's final match. Cena has since shared an inspirational quote which, again, seems to be hinting at the end of his in-ring career.

He's said on several occasions that, at 46 years old, he knows his time as a pro wrestler is winding down and it's no secret that he's getting increasingly busy in Hollywood with his acting commitments. With the SAG-AFTRA strike expected to end this week, we're guessing this Crown Jewel bout was his last...in 2023, at least.

Right now, all signs seem to be pointing to Cena calling it a day at WrestleMania 40. That presumably means he'll never win a seventeenth world championship and, as things stand, we don't even know if he'll pick up one final win before calling it a day.

For that matter, who knows who should retire Cena! For now, though, Solo will benefit from vanquishing the future WWE Hall of Famer in such a dominant fashion.

What do you think the future holds in store for Cena in WWE?

Almost hoping for a Ric Flair style storyline, where he will retire the next time he looses, then he can go on to have some good matches before being retired by someone to put them over.
