Is WWE Superstar Paige About To Make The Leap From Wrestling To Mixed Martial Arts?

Wrestlers have had mixed fortunes in MMA. While Brock Lesnar effortlessly made the leap from the squared circle to the octagon, Dave Bautista struggled and CM Punk was downright humiliated. Well, former WWE Divas Champion Paige revealed in a recent interview with TMZ that she's now seriously considering entering the world of mixed martial arts, "when my time with WWE comes to an end."

Well, it's since been reported that Paige is legitimately considering the switch from WWE, but in order to do so, she'll obviously have to be released from her current contract. That possibly happening has been rumoured for a while now, especially after her fiancee, former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio, parted ways with the company. As of right now, though, the plan is for her to return to WWE in April or May, but it's unknown how much longer she has left with them or if she'll actually make her return.

If Paige does head to the MMA realm, she'll need to be medically cleared to start training for that on a more full-time basis than she currently is. According to The Wrestling Observer, Combate Americas would like to have a pay-per-view event before the end of the year, and one idea would be for Paige to debut on that first show. Will it happen? As always, it's a case of waiting and seeing!
