It Appears As If John Cena Will Be Taking More Time Off Following WRESTLEMANIA
John Cena's commitments outside of WWE have led to him having the schedule of a part-timer, and it now appears as if we expect the sixteen time WWE Champion to take yet another break after WrestleMania!
Plans for John Cena at this year's WrestleMania aren't clear, but after holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for only two weeks, rumours point to him teaming up with Nikki Bella to square off with The Miz and Maryse at the Showcase of the Immortals. It's also been reported that Bella will take some time away from the ring to deal with issues from her neck surgery, while some have even claimed that the match will end with Cena asking his real-life girlfriend to marry him.
Whatever ends up happening, The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that the leader of the Cenation will once again take time off due to commitments to other projects following WrestleMania, and it appears as if we can expect to see him gone for quite some time. For starters, he's not advertised for the Money in the Bank PPV in June, and while things could change before then, Cena being gone for at least a few months would match up to what's happened in the past.
This may not necessarily be a bad thing, however. After vanishing following last year's SummerSlam, his absence led to AJ Styles carrying SmackDown Live and becoming the brand's biggest star. Following WrestleMania, the likes of Baron Corbin and Bray Wyatt will be given the chance to steal the spotlight in Cena's absence, not to mention whichever NXT Superstars end up being called up to the main roster in the next couple of months. What do you guys think of this news?
