It Appears As If John Cena Won't Be Returning For SURVIVOR SERIES After All

A recent advertisement led us to believe that John Cena would return for Survivor Series but that's now been changed and it seems the leader of the Cenation will actually be coming back to WWE even later.

After being defeated by Roman Reigns as No Mercy, John Cena has once again left WWE for a while. He's currently shooting Transformers spinoff Bumblebee and is expected to return to WWE programming before the end of the year but it won't be at Survivor Series! He's been removed from advertising from the event but added to a number of December shows.

Those are the following but as you may have noticed, these aren't televised episodes of RAW and SmackDown Live; instead, they're WWE Live events so Cena may not return to TV before them.

-Tue. Dec 26: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY (RAW)
- Wed. Dec 27: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, NY (RAW)
- Fri. Dec 29: Times Union Center, Albany, NY (RAW)
- Sat. Dec 30: Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL (SmackDown)

The
build up to the Royal Rumble feels like an appropriate place for Cena to return and it's hard to imagine him being at that Christmas Day episode of RAW (though it would no doubt boost ratings). Survivor Series is one of WWE's four big PPVs but Cena missing it probably isn't a huge surprise and is better than that rumoured match between him and Bray Wyatt at the event!
